Visual Six Sigma

Six Sigma provides a framework for process improvement.  It is a philosophy, a methodology, a set of tools.  Six Sigma encourages a data-driven approach to decision making and cultivates a culture of continuous improvement.  Underpinning the methodology is a conviction that high quality reduces overall costs, and that to investigate quality you need to understand common-cause and special-cause variation.

Visual Six Sigma seeks to streamline the process of data analysis and to make it more intuitive.

It leverages interactive and dynamic visualisation techniques to literally see sources of variation.  Exploratory data analysis methods are employed to investigate relations in data and statistical methods are used as tools for discovery, with more academic statistic methods being used for confirmation only when there is potential ambiguity in results.
